Novelist Anil Gharai was the architect of the baseborn. He was born on November 1st, 1957 village-Rukinipur of East Midnapore district, died on November 23, 1914. Father- Abhimanyu Gharai and Mother- Tilottama Gharai. Completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering from Krishnanagar College and worked as an officer in the south-east railway. His first book of short stories-‘Kak’ and the novel- ‘Nunbari’. His short stories, novels and books of poetry, including more than fifty. The main asset of his literature is life-style of afflicted, low-income and working class people. His writing novel about Rajoyer rebellion of Nadia ‘Ananta Draghima’ was receives the Bankim Memorial Award in 2010. In 1994, he received All India culture award from the hands of the President of India for his Dalit literature. Some of his books have been published in Hindi and English languages.
