Ashapurna Debi (born on 8th January 1909 – died on 13th July 1995) was an eminent Bengali novelist, short story writer, and children story writer whose writing subject was mainly the living style of ordinary women and their psychology in the twentieth century. The author was an utterly ordinary mother and housewife in her personal life even she was a complete novice to western literature and philosophy. She did not have knowledge of other languages other than Bengali. But deeper insight and energy of monitoring gave her one of the best author’s seats in Bengali literature. Her written threesome novels- Protham Protishruti, Subornalata, Bakulkatha are considered to be some of the best compositions of Bengali literature in the twentieth century. She received multiple literary awards. Now I’ll share a short story collection into a cover, name- Galpo Panchashat. There are fifty selected short stories in the book.
