Narendranath Mitra was born on January 30, 1916, at Faridpur in Bangladesh. The author began writing during his childhood, The first printed poem ‘Muk’ the first printed story ‘Mrityu O Jiban’ both are in Desh Patrika in 1936. His written first poetry book is ‘Jonaki’ the first novel is ‘Haribangsha’.He wrote almost fifty storybooks. In the novel specialty ‘Dwippunjo’, ‘Chenamahal, ‘Tindin Tinratri’ ‘Suryasakhi’ forever favorite. He died on September 14, 1975.  He is largely undiscussed-untapped in Bengali short stories territory. But the subject of his stories and the structural layout is competing in the world short stories.
