Dwijendralal Roy (born on July 19, 1863 – died on May 17 1913) was a prominent Bengali rhymer, playwright and composer and also known as D. L. Roy. He wrote more than 500 songs and these songs known as the Dwijendrageeti in Bengali music world. His most famous songs are- ‘Dhanodhanye Puspe Bhora’, ‘Banga Amar! Janani Amar! Datri Amar! Amar Desh’. He wrote numerous Dramas and his dramas are arranged in four categories- Farce, Dramatic poetry, Historical drama and Social drama. His writing poetry books are- Aryagatha and Manda.
