All the writers who have been acclaimed for the first writing in the world of Bengali literature, Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay was one of those writers. Bibhutibhushan’s first written story won the ‘Abichar’ award in the story competition of ‘Prabasi’ in the month of July in 1915-16. He was only nineteen years old then. On that day another bright star appeared in Bengali literature.
Few words about Bibhutibhushan Mukharjee
He was born in 1898. Birthplace Pandul, Mithila. Original residence Chatra, District Hogli. He passed matriculation from Dwarbanga Rajschool. Then I.A. from Ripon College in Calcutta, and B. A. from Patna. He excelled in football, hockey and tennis. Gardening was a hobby.
He has worked in various departments of Dwarbanga. Namely, the headmaster of the school, the Maharaja’s private secretary, the press superintendent, the director of the Maharaja’s ‘Indian Nation’ magazine in Patna, and finally the literary service.

Bibhutibhushan’s early establishment in Bengali fiction was mainly as a humorous writer. And his best identity comes from there.
