Bishnu Dey (18 July 1909 – December 3, 1982) was a celebrated Bengali poet, writer and film reviewer. In 1971 he got India’s highest literary award “Gyanpid” for his book Smiti Satta Bhabishyat. Also he got awards Sahitya Akademy Puruskar, Neheru Smiti Puruskar. His written Books are- Chorabali (1938), Purbalekh (1940), Ruchi o Pragoti (1946), Sandiper Char (1947), Sekal Theke Ekal (1980), Nam Rekhechi Kamal Gandhar (1950) etc. He Wrote an autobiography “Chharano Ei Jivan”. Bishnu Dey’s friendship with the artist Jamini Roy for that he wrote several books on the art of drawing as Art of Jamini Roy, The Painting og Rabindranath Tagore.
