Above mentioned all stories for children are written by the prominent Bengali author Narayan Gangopadhyay. His real name is Taraknath Gangopadhyay, ‘Narayan’ is his literary pseudonym. And this versatile writer was born on 27 January 1971.
He started literary work in his student life through poetry writing. In his next life, he achieved special fame by writing stories, novels, plays etc. His first novel ‘Uponibesh’ (1942, 1945, 1946), published in three volumes and it was very appreciated by the readers. His notable short stories compilation are- ‘Bitangs‘ (1954), ‘Dushasan’ (1945), ‘Bhogbati‘ (1947) etc. Notable novels are- ‘Boiganik’ (1947), ‘Shilalipi’ (1949), ‘Lalmati’ (1951), ‘Padasanchar’ (1954) etc. His creation ‘Tanida’ is a very popular fictional character for children.
