File format- pdfShahajada DaraShuko’s writer Shyamal Gangopadhyay is a well-known and respected name in Bangla literature. Shahajada DaraShuko is not like a novel, this is a description of like a dreamy life.
This eminent author was born on 25th March 1933 in undivided Indian Khulna (present day in Bangladesh). Brihannala’ was the first writing novel of his but Shyamal’s writing was appreciated in Bengali readers after the publication of ‘Kuberer Bishoy Ashoy’ continually in the ‘Desh’ magazine. His writings short stories Hajra Nasarker Jatrasangi, Dhankewte, etc. were published after joining Ananda Bazar in 1961. His novel ‘Alo Nei’ was written on the partition and his last novel is ‘Ganga Ekti Nadir Naam’. The rural life, farming, complexity of relations, etc. were the characteristics of his writings. ‘Sadhu Kalachander Galpo’, ‘Vasko Dagamar Bhaipo’, ‘Class Sevener Mr. Blek’ etc. books written for the children.
In 1993 Shyamalbabu was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award for his famous novel Shahzada Dara Shikoh. Shyamol Gangopadhyay’s writings have been translated and published in various languages of different countries.
