Syed Mustafa Siraj was a popular Bengali writer. He born the village of Thoshbaspur in Murshidabad district in 1930 on the October month. The real life story of this author that he escaped from house in his early life. And he joined the Loknatya “Alkap” of Rar Bengal and traveled the whole district. After he became the leader of “Alkap” and was the trainer also. He sat on the stage of “Alkap” and played flute in front of audience. The author traveled in West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar with his loknatya team. He lived in Kolkata but he thought himself as a non resident of Kolkata and whenever he got chance, he escaped then at Murshidabad.

This prominent author got a permanent seat in the stage of world literature for his short stories- “Inti, Pisi O Ghatbabu”, “Bhalobasa O Downtrain”, “Taranginir Chokh”, Jol Sap Bhalobasa”, “Mayamridanga“, “Hijalbiler Rakhalera”, “Nrishangsa”, “Ranobhumi”, “Mati”, “Rakter Protashya”, “Manusher Janmma”, “Darubrahmakatha“,  “Ranihgater Brittanta”, “Uropakhir Chhaya”, “Mrityur Ghora”, “Bhalobasa” etc. His novel ‘Alik Manush’ honored by the awards the Sahitya Akademi Award, the Bankim Puruskar of the West Bengal Government and Bhuyaloka Purushkar. Now I want to share an ancient madrigal book- ‘Amartya Premkatha’. There are three world famous madrigal in this book, these are- ‘Layla-Majnu’, ‘Usuf-Julekha’, ‘Shirhi-Farhad’.
