Nabanita Deb Sen (born 13 January 1938) is a Bengali poet, writer, and educationist. She was awarded by the Padma Shri in 2000. Father Narendra Dev and mother Radharani Devi were the famous poet couple of that era. So this eminent author grew up in a special literary and cultural environment during her childhood. Besides Bangla and English, she can read Hindi, Oriya, Assamese, French, German, Sanskrit and Hebrew languages. This penman is considered a prominent author of comparative literature. She received the literary Akademi Award for her autobiography belles-lettres, ‘Nati Nabanita’ in 1999. And also received the Mahadevi Barma award and various awards from the Indian Language Council and other organizations.
Her first poetry book ‘Pratha Pratyay’ was published in 1959 and the first novel ‘Ami Anupam’ was published in 1976. This prominent lady author wrote more than 38 books about poetry, essay, comedy, travelogue, novel.
