Author Swapnamoy Chakrabarty is a very well known person in Bengali literature, mainly as a short story writer. He started writing in the 1970s with poems but he became famous by writing stories and novels. And wrote about 350 stories and the first novel ‘Chatushpathy’ was published in 1992 in the Sharadiya Anandabazar Patrika. He has a special skill in the writing of analytical articles and columns or humorous. His novel ‘Holde Golap’ is honored by the Ananda Purushkar in 2015 and he won the Bankim Prize for the novel ‘Abantinagar’ in 2005. Apart from this, he got Manik Bandyopadhyay Award, All-India Kotha Purushkar, Tarashankar Smriti Award, Galpomela, Bharatbyas Award, and many other awards.
