Anita Agnihotri (born: 1956) is an Indian Bengali writer. She is an Indian Administrative Service officer in the profession. Her authored works have been translated into several languages.
Agnihotri was born in Calcutta in West Bengal, India in 1956. She wrote poetry from the age of six-seven and her poems were published in the children’s literary magazine ‘Sandesh’ when she was thirteen years old. Writer Bimal Kar inspired her to write literature.
Agnihotri received graduate honors in Economics from Presidency College, Kolkata. She joined the Indian Administrative Service Officer in 1980. From that time, she continued to write literature. Her literary works were also translated into major Indian languages including English, German, Swedish. Notable books are- ‘Jara Bhalobesechilo’, ‘Alik Jibon’, Kolkatar Protima Shilpira’, ‘Atolsporsha’, ‘Mohanadi’, Desher Bhitore Desh’, etc.
