The author was very interested in the ‘Jatismar’ (who can remember the incidents of one’s former lives) issue. There are several articles on this topic. A number of stories of his early writings are based on Jatismar topic. The stories are ‘Setu’, ‘Bish Kanya’, ‘Rumaharan’, ‘Mritpradip’, ‘Rakta-Sandhya’ and ‘Amitav’.
The two foreign writers, by whom Sharadindu was influenced to write this kind of story, were Jack London and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
There are three historic-jumble stories in this story-book ‘Jatismar’. These are- ‘Amitav’, ‘Mritpradip’, ‘Rumaharan’. The story ‘Amitav’, there is a little bit of mythological legend. The story content of ‘Mritpradip’ a complete myth and the names Kumardebi, Chandragupa, Chandrabarma, Samudragupta, these names are historic. Chandrabarma’s Digivijaya journey is a true fact. Here author in the story ‘Rumaharan’ tried to tell the story of the beginning of human civilization.
