Renowned Indian Bengali fiction writer Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay was born on March 30, 1899 in the town of Jounpur in Uttar Pradesh. His creation ‘Bomkesh Bakshi’ is a popular detective character which made the debut in 1932. His name as a writer of historical stories and novels is spoken after Bankimchandra in the history of Bengali literature. His walks in all areas of literature, such as poetry, story, novel, drama, teenage literature, translation. Sharadindu was a magician of short stories. He also wrote the article but it is in the pseudonym ‘Chandrahans’. His notable historical novels are- Kaler Mandira (1953), Gourmallar (1954), Tumi Sandhyar Megh (1958), Kumarsambhaber Kabi (1963), Tungabhadrar Tire (1965) etc. Detective character Bomkesh Bakshi is immortal creation of this author.
