Suchitra Bhattacharya (January 10, 1950- May 1, 2015) was an Indian Bangla lady author. She spent her school and college life in Kolkata. She graduated from the Jogmaya Debi college in the city of Kolkata. After serving in various places, she joined the government service but in 2004, she resigned from the job because she wanted to spend her overall time as a writer. In the late seventies, she focus on short stories and mid-eighties concentrated on writing novels.

Her, most of the stories are written based on contemporary social events. She is the creator of the character of lady detective ‘Mitin Masi’ in Bangla literature and in this series she wrote several novels for teenagers. In addition to the twenty-four novels, also wrote many short stories. Readers can also collect- Mitinmasi (part-1 and 2), Shreshtha Galpa (part-1) Sangraha, novel- Gopon Maya, edited book- Eksho Bacharer Sera Lekhikader Priyo Golpo from this blog.
