Annadashankar Roy (March 15, 1904 – October 28, 2002), one of the well-known Bengali poet and writer. The author was also well known for the creation of eminent rhyme. But he played role in both prose and verse. Many of Annada Shankar’s writings were published in the name of ‘Lilamoy Roy’. His literary works were included in the school syllabus in Bangladesh. This author’s creation notable novels are-

Autobiography books are- ‘Binur Boi’, ‘Pothe Probase’, ‘Japane’.
This prominent author was awarded many awards for his literary works as Sahitya Academy Award (1962), Ananda Puruskar got two times (1983 and 1994) Bidyasagar Puruskar and Siromani Puruskar (1995), Rabindra award, Nazurul award and also received many awards.
The short stories of the first phase of Annadashankar Roy were published in three volumes. The names of the volumes are ‘Prakritir Parihas’, ‘Mon Pobon’ and ‘Yauvan Jwala’. Later, those three volumes were combined and published as a compilation, named- ‘Golpo’. Some of the short stories of the second phase are published under the names ‘Kaminikanchan’ and ‘Rooper Daay’. Other stories remain unpublished in book form. Later another compilation is published where all are put together. It is named ‘Kotha’. This time another compilation has been published without publishing the short stories of the third stage in pieces. It is named ‘Kahini’. It is shared in this post.
