In Sandeepan’s story, the character is indefinite, the events do not take place, the situation does not develop, these do not seem to be his intention. He may want to develop a philosophy, but he does not have the patience, hard work, or ability to develop a philosophy. Avoiding the narrative, he leaves the storytelling in the hands of current storytellers (in his language, ba-le: Bengali Lekhak). Their barren wives gave birth to TVs, fridges, washing machines, sound systems, telephones, Maruti vans, two thousand square feet flats on Suren Tagore Road. Sandeepan’s aim is great literature. There is, of course, no definition of that literature. However, he talks about Manik Bandyopadhyay, Kamalkumar Majumder, Jibanananda, Kamur in the story in the article. He does not write about healthy normal Bengali life.
