Immortal poet Sharatchandra Chattopadhyay is well known in Bengal, India, and even in many countries outside India. Sharatchandra was born on 31st Bhatra 1283 (15 September 1876 AD) in Devanandpur village of Hooghly district. His father is Motilal Chattopadhyay, mother is Bhuvanmohini Devi.
Saratchandra’s education was in the village school, Hooghly Branch School, and Matulaloy in Bhagalpur. Father was without income for a long time. So F. A. (IA) He was not allowed to appear for the examination as he could not deposit the examination fee of Rs 20. But he studied a lot throughout his life. At the same time, he also practiced literature. Saratchandra practiced literature and wrote stories and novels from his childhood. Went to Rangoon and wrote many books, and also wrote many stories and novels back home. His book writing was his only source of income then.
Sharatchandra was honored by the countrymen as Aparajay and Amar Katha Shilpi for his groundbreaking works. He has also been honored at numerous receptions.
He wrote letters regularly during his life. All these letters are compiled in this collection.
