Honestly, we enjoyed reading Banani Sikder’s first novel ‘Bastaber Arale’ (Behind the Reality). The belief was that other readers would also like the book’s content very much. The reason is that in the book, the author has painted an indescribable image of our unequal society which has both conflict and sweetness. The author has shown here how the purity of love tarnishes by the arrogance of wealth and the awareness of poverty and brings the gap between attraction to each other. She has shown a more fresh form of these thoughts in her next volume ‘Samay Tomar Haat Dhore’. Here the incidents of the writer’s own life cast a shadow. Here reality has merged with the imagination. The fragrance of the first volume is still remembered. That good feeling seemed to be more concentrated in the second volume. The author’s writing style is of course modern.
The first volume of this book ‘Bastaber Aarele’ won the Michael Madhusudan Smitisanman award.
