Nimai Bhattacharya, the renowned novelist of Bangla literature who was born on 10 April 1931 in Kolkata.
For the sake of livelihood, he traveled around Asia-Africa Europe-America, rural-city like an out-of-space meteor. Who took him to love, he has had a deal with them with laughter-tears, love-affection. And suddenly one day began to write their words in his stories-novels. In 1963, a novel written by him was first published in Kolkata’s weekly magazine ‘Amrita Bazar’ and received huge praise from literary lovers.
Later on, ‘Rajdhanir Naipathya’, ‘Reporter’, ‘V.I.P.’ and ‘Parlament Steet’ were published in the same magazine. Since then, Nimai Bhattacharya started writing more and more novels along with journalism.

Somewhere the story of the life of happiness and sorrow in the lower society has been highlighted. The voices of protest against injustice are noticed in his writings.
