Parshuram alias Rajshekhar Basu is a bright star of Bangla literature. Parashuram initiated a new era in the story of Bangla laughter. The author is famous for his humorous and satirical writings there he used the pseudonym ‘Parshuram’.
In addition to composing the story, his translated of classical Indian literature like Kalidas Meghaduta, Balmiki Ramayana, Krishnavipayan Vyadabasaar Mahavarata (Saranubad), Shrimadbhagavadgita etc. were also gained huge popularity which he published in his own name. This literary is the most familiar for making the dictionary – ‘Chalantika’.
As a recognition of his literary work, the West Bengal government awarded him the Rabindra Award and the Padma Bhushan by the Indian government. In 1955 he received the Sahitya Akademi Award for the book ‘Anandabai Ityadi’.
