Jules Verne was born on February 8, 1800, on the island of Nantes in France. By studying law, he gained considerable fame and prestige as a lawyer. But this profession did not last long. Science-minded Jules Verne dreamed of various expeditions and as a result he was immersed in scientific experiments. That was the beginning of writing page after page about science fiction. The first writing was ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea’.
Then he started writing one by one- The Adventures of Captain Hatteras, In to the Niger Bend, Black Diamond, Around the World in Eight Days, Carpathian Castles, Michael Strogf, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Five Weeks in a baloon, Mysterious Island, The Master of the World, From the Earth to the Moon, The Green Flash, Eternal Adam, Clipper from the Clouds – there are countless more.
It has been possible to invent many new instruments and vehicles from his imagination. Hovercraft or submarine is proof of that. Swami Vivekananda himself loved to read his writings. He can also be called an unrivaled author of science fiction. His writings still make the imaginative minds of young and old science-minded readers.
Now in this post, I want to share a Juvenile omnibus by his writing. There is one novel and three stories are in this omnibus.
‘Tusarer Podochinha’ is actually a passage from Jules Verne’s ‘The English and the North Pole’. But because it has a taste for a short story and is intended to arouse the reader’s interest in the original novel, it has been included in this collection as a story.
