Ajeyo Roy (August 17, 1934 – 3rd September 2008) is a Bengali child literary. This famous author was born in Santiniketan in Birbhum district. His student life was spent in Kolkata and Santiniketan. After teaching for some time, he worked as a staffer at the Vishwavarti Agricultural Economics Research Center.
He has written a lot of storybooks for younger and children. His writings were published in Bangla magazines like Sandesh, Anandmela, Shuktara, Kishore Bharti, etc. Satyajit Ray illustrated in some of his stories.
Notable books written by him include Amazoner Gohone, Pheromon, Mongu, Manuk Dewtar Rahasya Sandhane, Kishor Rochona Sangraha, Adventure Samagra, etc. He created a detective and journalist character, named Deepak Roy.

Ajeyo Babu has received numerous awards in recognition of writing for children, among them are the Ashalata Sen Memorial Award given by Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal Children’s Literature Council Awards and Medals, Subinaya Roy Memorial Medal, Vidyasagar Memorial Award for Children Literature given by West Bengal Government.
