Premendra Mitra is the first Bengali writer who focuses on writing sci-fi or science-based stories and novels. His science literary work began in 1930. His first science fiction was ‘Pipre Puran’ that first published in Ramdhonu Patrika. ‘Kuhuker Deshe’ is his another science fiction and adventurist story, there was debut the hero of the story- ‘Mamababu’.
His composition of the immortal character ‘Ghanada’ was first published in 1945. He also wrote many short stories and novels, whose main character is Parashar Barma who professionally a detective but his hobby is poetry.
